I was offered a job on Thursday at 4 pm and submitted the background check and they told me I need a drug test within 24 hoursThe facility they were sending me too is not open Friday,Saturday,Sunday, or Monday! My question is am i safe to take it on Tuesday? Or did I just screw myself?
How would anyone here possibly know this? We don’t work for whatever company you are trying to get hired at, we aren’t in any way involved in the hiring process, nor is there a single person here who knows said companies policies.
You failed to say what drug(s) you’ve taken and when. Also what kind of test? There is a drug test calculator that will give you a rough estimate on time it takes to get the metabolites out of your system.
Your best bet is to just go as soon as they open and hope for the best. They really did give you very short notice and I personally (and I don’t work for said company) would think they would give you a pass IF you had a valid excuse.
Now what that excuse is, is up to you to figure out. It’s a bit late to figure all that out now but if you haven’t by now, I’d get to thinking!
I would assume you are correct. Under any circumstances it would be business hours except probation or parole. Unless of course it were a Sunday. At least in Florida. So with that being said, get your behind over there pronto and in the meantime come up with a better defense than “I thought you meant business hours”. You should be fine.
What drug are we talking about? If you’re not a frequent user and you snorted cocaine one day a few days will be okay for your urine to be clean. BUT, if you’re a everyday marijuana smoker you will probably need a few weeks to pass a drug test. Marijuana is a bitch when it comes to urine drug tests.
Well the thing about excuses is a lot of times, in fact, most times, you need to come prepared with proof. If I were you, I would go prepared with some type of written proof just in case. No need to pull it out and show them unless they give you a hard time about the test timing. If you can’t do that you may as well kiss this job goodbye. That is, if they give you a problem about not going on Thursday.
